Gone Fishin’

Fisherman in boat on lake with colorful sunrise

Let’s Go Fishing!

I’m excited to share my newest collection, Gone Fishin’. This collection perfectly encapsulates the joys of fishing at sunrise.

Since my favorite destination to photograph the sunrise is near water, on many mornings, I was often joined by my fellow early risers who were out on the lake. Even though it was pre-dawn, I always thought they were precisely where they wanted to be. And they were there for the sheer joy of indulging in a favorite pastime since the lake was a catch-and-release destination.

Coupled with their presence, it was a very memorable morning, because this photo has it all. An incredible array of colors and cloud formations with perfect reflections in the water, made it hard to believe when the scene started to form, even though I had witnessed it in person.

So Many Benefits

Fishing at sunrise often provides a peaceful and serene environment for enthusiasts.

But are there other benefits to watching the sun rise? Absolutely! Experts agree it can jump start your day and improve both your physical and mental health. Fishing at sunrise not only offers a wonderful way to enjoy nature but provides substantial mental health benefits.

In an article written by Traci Pedersen in August, 2022, medically reviewed by Debra Rose Wilson, Ph.D., MSN, R.N., IBCLC, AHN-BC, CHT and published on PsychCentral.com, entitled “Mental Health Benefits of Watching the Sunrise”, she shares that, “Watching the sunrise can improve mood, inspire awe, and reduce inflammation. People who watch the sunrise every morning receive numerous benefits: better mood, stronger immune system, a feeling of awe, and a big picture mentality”.

Make Time for Some Rejuvenation

So get out there and let nature give you your daily dose of awesome! And find out what many already know, fishing at sunrise or just watching it with a cup of coffee can be a truly rejuvenating experience.
