At nearly 14,000 feet the snow covered peaks in Grand Teton National Park were a very, very impressive sight. But it was also quite stunning at ground level and up close. The wildlife and landscapes meant it was just as amazing as its much larger and famous neighbor, Yellowstone.
The two parks are adjacent, so as we often said, “The wildlife doesn’t recognize boundaries” and thus travel throughout both locations. The handsome male elk was very close to the roadway, offering another jaw dropping “Northwest Encounter” that was the perfect photographic experience. And the striking contrasts in colors throughout the park provide incredible views begging to be explored and photographed. Another must see destination to add to your list!
Now back at home working on another portfolio, this concludes the “Northwest Encounters” series. I hope you have enjoyed viewing the photos as much as I did taking them and sharing the experience. It is one that we will remember for a lifetime. And it is my hope that you too will have the opportunity to create your own memories in some of the most beautiful places on earth.
