While not the prettiest creatures in the animal kingdom, I find alligators quite fascinating to observe. And I can’t emphasize enough that if treated with due caution and respect, the opportunity to capture some incredible photos is very possible.

However during feeding, mating and nesting times it is of the utmost importance to give them a wide berth as they can be quite aggressive. Like all living, breathing creatures (humans included) protecting their young is instinctively their number one priority.

So if you’re planning an adventure where they will be present, be sure to spend a few moments researching their behavioral patterns so you and they can enjoy a beautiful day in nature.
